Abstract: Parker Hannifin Corporation is one of the world's leading motion and control technologies and systems manufacturers. It provides precision-engineered solutions to commercial, mobile, industrial and aerospace markets.

When the industrial recession set in during 2001, the company was faced with huge amounts of excess capacity and high costs.
